Glass Fusing 5 Week Course

Service Description
Join us for a fun and informative 5 week slumping and fusing class taught by glass artist, Lindsy Marshall. Lindsy has taught at Corning, Snow Farm, Urban Glass and Diablo Glass. She is well versed in all aspects of glass fusing, lampworking, casting and glassblowing. It’s easy to learn the basics of fusing glass. It’s also challenging, fun, and the possibilities are endless. Time will be allotted to work during class, offering one on one attention with instructor help and feedback. The instructor will give weekly demonstrations and offer individual attention. Who Should Attend: Beginner/ Intermediate. Anyone above the age of 12 Week One: Coasters Learn how to cut and assemble glass pieces. Learn the basics of firing glass, the ¼ rule and prepping your kiln shelf. Week Two: Jewelry During this week you will dive into the technique of stacked glass to create jewelry elements. You will also learn how to use frit to fill jewelry molds. Week Three: Slumping This week we will talk about firing schedules and utilize our library of molds to create functional art in the form of dishware. Week Four: Enamel Drawing. In this class, you'll learn how to use enamel paint to create your own designs on glass. Use stencils or learn how to freehand. Our experienced instructor will guide you through the basics of enamel painting, including the proper techniques for applying the paint and creating beautiful designs. Week Five: Make up day/open studio Had to miss a week? No problem the instructor will be here to teach you the technique you missed. Made it to every class so far? Perfect, this day is a chance for you to continue on a project that you started or dive into something new and challenging. ***All supplies are included except for dichroic glass which can be purchased at the studio*** Ages 14 and up please
