Service Description

Are you looking to learn more about fusing? Outside of our recurring fusing courses we also offer one private session a week. This session is taught by Lindsy Marshall. Lindsy Marshall is an artist and maker living in Massachusetts. Having discovered glass while studying at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, it has come to be a prominent material in her work. Her work has been shown in notable exhibitions such as Bullseye’s Emerge 2018 and Contemporary Glass Sculpture with New Bedford Art Museum. She’s taught at institutions such as Snow Farm Craft School and Shiny Sparkle Studio. During a private session you can expect to learn how to use all of the necessary tools to complete basic fusing projects. You will gain knowledge about how glass behaves when heated and what the kiln is doing when we start it on a fusing "schedule". You will learn the importance of layering flat glass and be introduced to techniques that get you the design you are hoping for. Sessions can be tailored to you. You can either complete a specific project that you would like to accomplish or experiment with techniques with no particular end product in mind. **This is a required class for those students looking to independently rent the studio if they have had none or limited prior experience with fusing.
